Compression

Bruckman Rubber Co. has years of experience in choosing the molding method that is right for your part design and material requirements.

Compression molds are generally the least expensive of the three types of tooling that are typically used in the rubber industry. Part configuration, material, and estimated run quantities are some of the considerations used to decide the best tooling approach. Compression type tools are often the preferred choice when budget and production quantities are limited.

Compression Molding

As shown above, there are no feeders used in compression molds. While the mold is open a rubber perform (slab, strip or extrusion) is placed in the cavity and then the tool is closed, and pressure is applied. This compresses the rubber preform into the desired shape, creating your part. We have the capability of molding on platens up to 36” square and using up to 500 tons of pressure.
